Thomas E. Gibbons passed away peacefully in Birmingham on Oct. 22.

He was born in Joliet, Ill., on April 21, 1939, and attended Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, then worked as a captain for Ozark Airlines. He most recently resided in Demopolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jane and Edward Gibbons; and sister, Marilyn Gibbons.

He is survived by his sister, Ellen Gibbons; niece, Holly Schepke (Tobin) Brown; nephew, Jordan (Carrie) Schepke; five great-nieces and great-nephews, Bennett Brown, Abigail Brown, Jack Schepke, Kate Schepke and Joe Schepke.

All services will be private.
