The Rev. Willie C. Rice, 73, of Coatopa, the beloved husband of Kay Rice of Coatopa, entered into eternal rest Sept. 30 at the DCH Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. at the Bethel-Pine Baptist Church in Coatopa with the Rev. John Wright officiating. Interment followed in the Bucks Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 48 years, Kay Frances Cheatheam Rice; four sons, Willie (Barbara) Rice, Ray Rice, Kenneth (Jacci) Rice and Kelvin Rice; two daughters, Pamela Rice and Shelia Rice; granddaughter, Brittany Reynolds, all of Birmingham; three sisters, Bertha Rice, Leatha Rice Jones and Rosie (Kinnis) Kelley, all of Birmingham; 16 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
