The annual

The annual Love Lights Tree Lighting will be Wednesday, Dec. 4.

The Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is gearing up for the Love Lights Tree Lighting.

The annual event, now in its 24th year, kicks off Christmas on the River week festivities. This year’s tree lighting will take place Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. on the hospital’s front lawn.

What began with a small tree outside the hospital more than two decades ago has grown to include a 24-foot tall tree atop the facility, two trees inside the front lobby covered with red and white ornaments and a hall filled with Christmas wreaths.

Love Lights help fund various Auxiliary projects throughout the year, including new equipment for the hospital and scholarships for students pursuing careers in healthcare.

For a $3 donation, an ornament will be placed on a tree in memory or in honor of someone. Two ornaments are available for a $5 donation.

Wreaths will also be available for display in the hospital’s main hallway for $100.

To purchase Love Lights or a wreath, contact any member of the BWWMH Auxiliary or visit the hospital’s Gift Shop.
