Georgia Pacific’s Naheola Mill recently donated $2,500 to the Demopolis Chamber of Commerce in support of Christmas on the River.

“A considerable number of our employees reside in Demopolis and many of them, regardless of where they live in the area, travel to participate in Christmas on the River festivities,” said Kelvin Hill, Vice President of Naheola operations. “This is the fourth year we have supported this event because we appreciate the value it creates for our employees, their families and the community at-large.”

The sponsorship aligns with the Naheola mill’s support of community enrichment, which helps the company create value for its customers, employees, the company and society.

Georgia-Pacific firmly believes that strong communities are good for business. This is a core philosophy that is anchored in a belief that for a business to survive and prosper, it must develop and use its capabilities to create sustainable value for both its customers and society.

The donation is processed through the Georgia-Pacific Foundation whose purpose is to help create and fund those programs and initiatives that add value to, and measurably improve, the quality of life within the communities where Georgia-Pacific employees live and work.
