Helen Washington of Forkland entered into eternal rest Dec. 26 at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 3 at 1 p.m. at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Forkland with the Rev. Lynn Finch officiating. Interment followed in the adjourning church cemetery.

Survivors include two loving children, Ulysses (Sharon) Washington of Orlando, Fla., and Sharon Renee (Vernon) Washington of Augusta, Ga.; five sisters, Bertha (Richard) Cotton of Dolton, Ill., Patricia (Marvin) Head (caregivers) and Theresa (Lee) Davis of Augusta, Ga., Julia (Ben) Jackson of Forkland, and Janet (Charles) Cunningham of Amityville, N.Y.; four brothers, George Jackson of Tishabee, James (Freda) Jackson of Forkland, Ulysses Simmons of Birmingham, and Joe of Amityville, N.Y.; a loving and devoted sister-in-law, Hattie Emma Evans of Birmingham; one brother-in-law, Henry Smith Jr. of Tishabee; 10 grandchildren, one whom she reared as her own, Travis Washington of Augusta, Ga.; two beautiful great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, two whom she considered her own, Morris (Priscilla) Turner and Fred Jackson of Forkland; other relatives and special friends.
