A single-vehicle crash Friday claimed the life on a yet-to-be identified victim.

The crash occurred at 3:15 p.m. on Greene County 20, about 11 miles north of Boligee.

A 2000 Mitsubishi left the roadway at a high rate of speed, struck a tree and became engulfed in flames, according to Alabama State Troopers.

The identity of the victim is unknown as of Tuesday morning due to the fire.

No other information is available as troopers continue to investigate.
