Harold Eugene Schmidt, 80, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, Miss.
He was born Sept. 2, 1933, near Galva, Kan. He was a minister of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite for 50 years. He also had a lifelong occupation in agriculture.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Vada, of Oakwood Manor in Brooksville, Miss.; sons, Galen of Macon, Miss., Lavern of Greensboro, David of Guntersville, Donald of Stapleton, Ga., Mark of Burlington, Wyo.; and daughters, Marsha Smith of Austin, Ky., and LaDeen Warkentin of Austin, Ky.
Funeral services will be held at the Cedar Crest Mennonite Church on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m. with ministers Kenneth Diller and Errol Wedel officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 5 from 6-9 p.m. at the Cedar Crest Mennonite Church with Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing.
