UWA delays Tuesday classes until noon

For the evening of Monday, Feb. 10, the University of West Alabama remains under a winter weather advisory as issued by the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
Classes scheduled before noon will not meet on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Offices will open at noon, and all other scheduled classes, beginning at 12:30 and including evening classes, will meet.
Young Hall Cafeteria will open at 7 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service, “a winter weather advisory means that periods of snow and sleet will cause travel difficulties.” The NWS further suggests that all parties “be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities… and use caution while driving.”
Should the University announce delays or closures, announcements will be distributed to area media; sent to all faculty, staff and students via UWA Alerts, the University’s emergency alert system and posted on the University Web page at http://www.uwa.edu/weather. Students and parents should consult these outlets for announcements. All parties should closely monitor weather conditions and reports and use judgment before traveling in inclement weather.
