Severe thunderstorms possible Thursday evening

Severe thunderstorms, including tornadoes, will be possible across all of Central Alabama on Thursday evening through Friday morning as a strong cold front passes over the area.

Storms are expected to arrive in Marengo County between 6-9 p.m. Thursday but that’s subject to change.
Damaging winds and isolated tornadoes will be the main threats as a squall line is expected to move through the state just out ahead of the cold front. Large hail with be a secondary concern with the storm system.
The best potential for serve weather will be for locations to the north and west of a line from Demopolis to Calera to Gadsden.

The main threat is damaging straight-line winds but isolated tornadoes and large hail are also possible.
The front is expected to come through Marengo County from 6-9 p.m. but those times are subject to change.
