Perry fans 13 as Tigers clinch area in win over Greenville

Tripp Perry pitched a six-inning shutout Thursday night in Demopolis’ 11-0 win on the road against Greenville to clinch the area title.
Perry only surrendered two hits while striking out 13 batters in the game. The win gives him a 2-2 record this season.
Tyler Oates led the way for the Tigers offensively, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a single and a double, a RBI and two runs scored. Jacob Rodrigues had two RBIs for Demopolis, going 1-for-3 at the plate with a double. He also scored a run. Michael Brooker, John Anthony Morrison and Wil Stephens also tallied RBIs in the game.
Seth Aiken, Brooker and Morrison each scored two runs each, and Ryan Schroeder crossed the plate as well.
The win puts Demopolis at 11-10 overall on the season and 4-0 in the area.
The Tigers will be on the road for their next matchup as they travel to Hale County for a double header Monday, April 7.
