Katherine Lee Huggins Walker, 84, of Grove Hill, died Tuesday, April 22 at her daughter’s home in Valley Grande.
She was born Feb. 3, 1930, in Coffeeville. She was a retired seamstress and a member of the Bassett Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Herbert Huggins and Ethel Lee Counselman Huggins; brother, Wayne Huggins; sister, Loree Shewmake; and son-in-law, Bobby Dolbare.
She is survived by her husband, E.P. Walker of Grove Hill; daughters, Linda Walker Dolbare of Valley Grande, Fay Walker (Rick) Elrod of Forsyth, Ga., Kay Walker (Dan) Taylor of Selma, and Jan Walker (Doug) Brooker of Demopolis; sisters, Elouise Scarbrough of Grove Hill and Joyce Sheffield of Jackson; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Bassett Creek Baptist Church on Thursday, April 24 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Chris Kynard, the Rev. Rick Elrod, the Rev. Bill Allison, the Rev. Adam Pate and the Rev. Warren Shewmake officiating. Burial was at Bassett Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Grove Hill.
Active pallbearers were Robert Dolbare, Alan Brooker, Drew Hewston, Seth Taylor, Joel Taylor, Michael Brooker, Keffrey Elrod and Chris Adams. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Bassett Creek Baptist Church.
