Stephens-Kennedy to wed May 17 in Demopolis

Mr. and Mrs. Robin Chiles (Traci) Pearson of Demopolis, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Todd (Heather) Stephens of Linden, announce the engagement and forthcoming nuptials of their daughter Hannah Lorraine, to Michael David Kennedy, son of Mr. and Mrs. David (Gina) Kennedy of Monroe, La.

Stephens is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John (Lorraine) Wilkerson of Demopolis and the late Roy W. Stewart. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William (Pauline) Stephens of Linden, Mr. T. E. Pearson of Demopolis, and the late Mrs. Rosalie Pearson.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Demopolis High and a 2012 graduate of the University of Alabama, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in communicative disorders and early childhood education.

While completing her undergraduate degree, she served as an active member of Alpha Gamma Delta-Psi Sorority.

This spring, she completed a Masters of Education in early childhood special education through UAB and is currently employed as a special education teacher at Westside Elementary in Demopolis.

Kennedy is the grandson of the late James and Myra Kennedy of Sinton, Texas, and the late Frank and Birdie Fragala of Monroe, La.

Graduating from Monroe’s Neville High School in 2007, the prospective groom earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at Auburn University in 2011 and a Master of Science in sport management at the University of Alabama in 2013. He is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce in Demopolis.

The wedding will be held at 5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Demopolis on May 17.
