Hospital to offer free health screenings
In celebration of National Hospital Week, Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital will offer free health screenings.
The screenings will be Thursday, May 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the BWWMH Main Lobby. The free check up will cover blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, body mass index (BMI) and varicose veins.
The event is sponsored by the Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital, GROWestAL Division, Two Rivers Surgical Associates and Wellness Center.
The hospital will also host a lunch and learn Monday, May 12 with oncologist Dr. Shawn Tai.
The topic is a timely one for the upcoming summer months: how to detect and prevent skin cancer.
Lunch is available for $5 per plate.
Space is limited so call (334) 289-2626 to reserve a spot. If no answer, leave a message with your name and phone number. A few seats were still available Friday.
