Former Miss COTR named 2014 parade Grand Marshal

Former Miss Christmas on the River Christy Kyser Truitt will be the Grand Marshal in the 2014 COTR parade on Saturday, Dec. 6.
Truitt, a Demopolis native, is an award winning writer and novelist. She has written three fiction novels including “Where the River Bends,” “Justice for All” and “Merry’s Christmas.”
With heavy influences from her Deep South home, Truitt takes Christian Fiction to exciting new places.
Truitt is the daughter of Ed Kyser and Marsha Edwards and the granddaughter of the late Philip and Vera Mae Kyser from Demopolis. As a 1988 graduate of Demopolis High School, Truitt is former Marengo County Junior Miss and Miss Christmas on the River.
Truitt is the copy editor and an active feature writer for East Alabama Living Magazine.
She graduated from Auburn University and currently resides in Auburn with her husband, Brian, and their three children. She works as a relationship manager for Alabama Ag Credit.
Truitt is also the financial adviser for the Sigma Lambda Chapter of Kappa Delta at Auburn University.
She said she’s excited to be attending this year’s Christmas on the River.
