The Demopolis 11U All-Stars were recognized Thursday for winning the District 10 tournament last weekend.
The Demopolis 8U All-Stars earned their first win of the tournament Thursday night by defeating Sweet Water 19-4 in three innings.
The other two Demopolis teams in action Thursday night fell to Sweet Water. The 10U All-Stars lost 15-5 and the 12U All-Stars lost 12-1.
In the 10U game, Demopolis led Sweet Water 5-3 in the fifth inning, but back-to-back six-run innings for Sweet Water gave them the win.

In the 12U game, Braden Broussard pitched for Sweet Water, allowing one run on a home run in the second inning. Other than that mistake, Broussard had the Demopolis hitters guessing throughout the game.
Sweet Water led off the game with a leadoff home run by Reed Joiner to take a 1-0 lead. A second run in the inning was all they would need for the game.
Javier Quintana blasted a pitch over the center field wall in the second inning for Demopolis’ only run of the game.
Demopolis’ 8U All-Stars are now 1-2 overall in the tournament with a game Friday at Linden before elimination day on Saturday. The Demopolis 10U All-Stars are now 0-3 in the tournament and will travel to Greensboro on Friday. The 12U All-Stars are 2-2 in the tournament and will play again on Saturday in an elimination game.
