Eddie Merriweather, 56 of Jefferson, the beloved husband of Shirley Merriweather, entered into eternal rest on July 30 at the VA Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 9 at noon at Small Memorial AME Zion Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Edmond Charleston officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery. Public viewing was held Friday, Aug. 8 at the funeral home from 1-6 p.m. The remains will repose at the church one hour prior to funeral services.
