Brenda Joyce McClure, 65, of Thomaston, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12 at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 1, 1948, in Marengo County.

She is survived by her husband, George C. McClure of Thomaston; daughter, Vicki Lynn (Dexter) Drake of Thomaston; son, George H. (Lynette) McClure of Thomaston; sisters, Carolyn Rogers of Beaumont, Miss., Hazel (Wallace) Vick of Demopolis; brother, Leon (Pamela) Braswell of Mannford, Okla.; and three grandchildren, Abigail Drake Etheridge, Wesley McClure and Jessica McClure.

Funeral services were held at the Thomaston Baptist Church on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dunford Cole, the Rev. Randall Mims and the Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating. Burial was held at Linden Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers were Henry Braswell, Allen Clark, Robert Pruett, Jeff Laduron, Jimmy Day, Brian Cannon, Cole McClure, Jon Pat Lucas, Cameron Lawrence and Wesley McClure. Honorary pallbearers were the Thomaston Bingo Club.
