A Gainesville man died in a single-vehicle crash Friday, Aug. 15 in Sumter County.

Charlie Harris, 61, was killed when the 2004 Jeep Cherokee he was driving left the roadway and overturned. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to state troopers.

The crash occurred at 12:55 p.m. on Alabama Highway 17 at the 169 mile marker, three miles north of Geiger.

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the accident.
