Cecil Joyner, 87, of Gallion, passed away Sunday, Sept. 7.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barvon Alton Joyner; parents, G. W. Phillips and Nora Jones Phillips Barnes; special friend, Paul Morris; and sister, Ella Rhodes.

Surviving are her daughter, Jean J. (Gerald) Hill; brothers, Eddie Phillips and Tommy Phillips; sisters, Louise Ford and Bea Shaw; grandchildren, Sharon (Richard) Morris and Paul Hill; great-grandchildren, Anthony Evans, Alexis Hill, Amber Hill, Kayla Morris and Ivey Morris; great-great-grandchildren, Anna Molly Evans, Kaylab Ferrell and Bradley Ferrell.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church in Gallion with the Rev. Warren Huggins and Paul Whitcomb officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Paul Hill, Anthony Evans, Richard Morris, Justin Ford, Randy Ford and Zack Ford. Honorary pallbearers are Buddy Lawrence, Billy Kirkham, Charles Freeman, Tommy Vick, Mike Crosby, Jimmy Pierce, Dr. Alex Curtis, staff of West Alabama Hospice, doctors and nurses of DCH Cardiac Surgery Unit, Ronnie Summerlin, Mack Phillips and Larry Phillips.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Marengo County Rescue Squad, 310 W. 7th Ave., Linden, AL, 36748.
