Demopolis High School’s cross country team will send eight members to Saturday’s state championship meet at Oakville Indian Mounds Park and Museum in Moulton.

All five girls on the team qualified because as a team, they finished third in the Class 5A, Section 1 meet last weekend. On the boys side, three Tigers qualified.

The top three teams from each section meet qualify for state, then the top six finishers in the meet that are not members of the qualifying teams qualify. Three of Demopolis’ boys were in the top six of runners whose teams didn’t qualify.
