DPD officer involved in car accident

DPD Officer Dion Pritchett Jr., was injured Thursday morning when a vehicle ran into the back of his patrol car. Pritchett was transported to the hospital, where he was treated and released.

A Demopolis police officer was injured in a car accident Thursday morning on Highway 80.

DPD Officer Dion Pritchett Jr., was injured when a vehicle ran into the back of his patrol car, according to DPD Chief Tommie Reese.

A vehicle ran into the back of a DPD patrol car Thursday morning on Highway 80. The driver of the vehicle was taken to Vaughan Regional Medical Center to be treated and released.

Reese said Pritchett complained of pain in his back and head, so he was transported by AmStar to Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle was transported by a privately owned vehicle to Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma.

Both Pritchett and the driver of the other vehicle were treated and released Thursday, according to Reese.
