ALEA releases identity of boating accident victim

A single-vessel accident Tuesday, March 22, claimed the life of a Jasper woman.
Kimberly Delois Sergeant, 40, who was a passenger in a Spectrum fishing boat, was killed when she jumped from the stalled vessel to avoid drifting off the Demopolis Lock and Dam on the Tennessee-Tombigbee River. Sergeant was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened shortly after 11 a.m.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers from the Marine Patrol Division continue to investigate.
