Emma Cobb Hudgens Bailey

Emma Cobb Hudgens Bailey, 92, of Demopolis, went to be with her Lord on Sept. 5, 2016 at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Bailey was born July 16, 1924 in Marengo County to the late James and Willie Cobb Hudgens.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward B. Bailey; daughter, Nancy Freeland; and her brother, James Hudgens Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Bailey of Princeton, New Jersey; and two sons, Edward B. Bailey Jr. of Demopolis and Daniel Bailey (Tammy) of Northport. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: James Bailey (Niki), April Freeland, Audrey Miller and Ashley Henderson; and four great-grandchildren: Zoe Coleman, Fletcher Bailey, Bryan Lewis and Paige Miller.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis with Rev. David Willis officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 10:45 a.m. before leaving the funeral home to drive to the cemetery for the service at 11.
The family would like to recognize the following two groups as honorary pallbearers and personally thank them for their care for Mrs. Bailey: the doctors, staff and nurses at Southern Care Hospice and at Always Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Demopolis Public Library.
