James Terry Calloway

James Terry Calloway, also affectionately referred to as “T.C., Lightning, Papa, 01 Man and Boss Man” passed away at his home at the age of 76.
Services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 4, at Canal Heights Church of Christ in Demopolis with Jimmie Benson officiating. Burial will be immediately afterwards in Memorial Gardens with Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis directing. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Woodrow Calloway, and mother, Gracie Loree Murphy Calloway.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Shumate Calloway; sons, Coroy Calloway (Denise), Heath Wright and Hess Wright (Carrie); daughters, Cheryl Hannum (Mikel), Heather Reeves (Derek) and Christi Rabalais; sister, Carol Reinhardt; brother, Mel (Sue) Calloway; and grandchildren, Zachary DiFabio (Christine), Cody Calloway, CJ Calloway, Mitch Wright, Murphy Rabalais, Jane Wiley Wright, Austin Wright, Sarah Waid Wright, Jackson Reeves and Shelby Hannum.
Terry served in the United States Navy and retired from the hardwood lumber industry. He followed his football team for almost 40 years as an avid supporter of University of Alabama football.
He was a faithful member of the Canal Heights Church of Christ in Demopolis, teaching Sunday school and Wednesday night lessons and serving in VBS. He has preached at Linden, Greensboro and Butler every opportunity offered while still teaching regularly at Woodhaven Nursing Home. He offered and shared the gospel with many people. Terry devoted every single day to his God, wife and family. He loved God. He revered God. He obeyed God. We have our values because of the example he set.
Pallbearers will be Zachary DiFabio, Cody Calloway, CJ Calloway, Mitch Wright, Murphy Rabalais, Austin Wright, Jackson Reeves, Jackson Sherrod and Brandon Paulk.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center, the staff of Comfort Care Hospice and Dr. Alex Curtis.
