Carl Gouldman Elliott, 81, of Demopolis passed away peacefully on Feb. 18, 2017.
Mr. Elliot was born in Demopolis on July 6, 1935, to the late Clyde Neely and Andrew Jackson Reynolds Elliott Sr. He spent his whole life in Demopolis, working for over 40 years at Gulf States and also retiring from serving his country in the Army National Guard. He truly loved Demopolis.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Aurelia Ward Elliott; daughter, Lillian Elliott Byrd (John) of Jacksonville, Florida; sons, Carl Jackson Elliott Sr. (Tricia) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Martin Neely Elliott of Birmingham; and his only grandchild, 1-year-old Carl Jackson Elliott Jr., who goes by Jackson. Mr. Elliott also leaves behind many other family members and friends, especially a special friend to the family, Bettie Lou Bozeman.
Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22, at noon at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Demopolis. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 until 11:45 a.m. with mass beginning at noon. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Fr. John Jamnicky will be officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel will be directing.
Active pallbearers will be John Byrd, Samuel Bozeman, Bill Ward, Edward Compton Jr., Al Ward, and Martin Holt.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask memorials please be made to St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Demopolis.
