Linda Schnell Ball

Linda Schnell Ball entered Heaven on March 26, 2017. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and friend. She loved life, Alabama football, and traveling with her family. She was a blessing to everyone she met and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
She was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee on April 17, 1948, the daughter of Raymond and Ernestine Schnell. She graduated from Demopolis High School and earned a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Alabama. Her professional career included 14 years with BellSouth and 15 years as secretary for Jefferson County International Baccalaureate School.
She was an active member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. She was also a member of ZTA sorority and recently received her 50 year white violet pin.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Richard Thomas Ball; and brother-in-law, Alan Carl Ehrke.
She is survived by her daughters, Amy Louise Ball and Wendy Leigh Treadwell (Ben); sister, Janet Schnell Ehrke; father-in-law, Richard Oakley Ball; sister-in-law, Vickie Shill (Bobby); nieces, Karen Ehrke and Laura Shill (Burke Miles); and a nephew, Jake Shill (Kristen).
A private family burial service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery. The Memorial Service celebrating Linda’s life will be held at The Chapel at the Grants Mill campus of Church of the Highlands at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 31.
