Frances “Meme” Farrar Lackey, age 82, of Demopolis, died April 15, 2017, at Woodhaven Nursing Home.
A graveside service was held 2 p.m. on Monday, April 17, at Graham Cemetery in Reform with the Rev. Tommy Carr officiating. The family received friends at the funeral home from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directed.
Frances was born Oct. 4, 1934, in West Point, Mississippi, to William Ernest and Alza Roberts Farrar.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell Lackey; daughter, Teresa Lynn Lackey; sister, Jane Knight.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda L. Speed of Tuscaloosa and Cindy L. Parten of Demopolis; grandchildren, Russ Speed (Heather) and Allison Simmons of Tuscaloosa, Charlie Parten and Carson Parten of Demopolis; and great-grandchildren, Emory Frances Simmons, Cole Russell Speed and Lyla Jane Speed all of Tuscaloosa.
Pallbearers will be Russ Speed, Charlie Parten and Carson Parten.
Honorary pallbearers are Staff at Morning Point of Tuscaloosa, Staff of Woodhaven Nursing Home, Southern Care Hospice, The Friday Night Group and Bridge Ladies.
