Edward Phifer Fendley, Jr., 87, died at his home in Mobile on May 27.

Born in Demopolis on September 30, 1929, he is predeceased by his parents, Dr. Edward P. Fendley, Sr., and Erin Livingston Fendley; his sister, Carolyn Fendley Clifton Kelley, nephew Robin Clifton, granddaughter Ley Meredith Birmingham, and his former wives, Barbara Harding Fendley O’Connor and Olivia Watson Beaty.

He is survived by his six children: Aynne (Bobby) Fendley Daugherty, of Cypress, TX; Ward (Theresa) Fendley of Mobile; Harding Fendley of Mobile; Lyn Fendley Foster of Mobile; Leah Fendley Tarbell of Reston, VA; and Stephanie (David) Fendley Babbitt of Cleveland, TN. Grandchildren: Joshua Burmeister, Ashley (Brad) Fendley Frazier, Audrey Dianne Fendley, Maggie (Jay) Daugherty Sullivan, Edward Ray (Dana) Daugherty, Jacob (Jenn) Daugherty, Thomas Harding Fendley, Lizzie (Michael) Boswell Mahoney, Zachary Boswell, Amanda Foster, Max Foster, Benjamin (Becca) Tarbell, Jackson Tarbell, Jonathan Kilgore, Lucie Birmingham, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one nephew: Shawn (Jennifer) Kelley.

As was Ed’s wish, he will be cremated. Family and friends will gather this fall in his beloved Demopolis to celebrate Ed’s life (date to be determined).
