The Demopolis Police Department responded to a home invasion where a victim was tied up and robbed.
According to DPD officials, officers were called to a home on Vine Avenue on Thursday, July 13, and upon arrival learned that an unknown male had entered the residence, tied up the female homeowner and robbed here.
“The victim was not seriously injured in the incident, but was truly shaken by the ordeal,” according to Director of Public Safety and Police Chief Tommie Reese.
Investigators with the police department along with crime scene technicians were called to process the scene and interview witnesses.
Reese said the suspect took some money from the residence after tying the victim.
“I want to encourage our citizens, if you see something that looks unusual or someone prowling around in areas they shouldn’t be, please say something and notify the police department,” he said. “We will work hard to get this person brought to justice and continue to give our citizens a piece of mind in knowing our city remains safe.”
