Charles Earl Osburn

Charles Earl Osburn, 79, of Linden died Jan. 17, 2018 at DCH Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Osburn was born Nov. 6, 1938 in Perry County, Alabama to C.W. and Verna Osburn. He was a retired millwright, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a member of Providence Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Osburn; daughter, Wendy (Roger) Burge; two sons, Jerry (Ann) Osburn and Wade (Angela) Osburn; sister, Carolyn Lovett; four grandchildren, Andy (Alisha) Burge, Jessica Burge, Lauren Osburn, and Kimberly Osburn; and four great-grandchildren, Addison Burge, Conner Burge, Adalyn Harrison, and Brantley Harrison

He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Osburn Jr.; parents, C.W. and Verna Osburn; three sisters, Florence Allen, Elizabeth Crawford, and Josephine Webb; and two brothers, Mike Osburn and Howard Osburn.

Funeral services were held at Providence Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m., with Dr. David Stidham and Paul Whitcomb officiating. Burial was in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers were: William Webb, Donald Sullivan, Wayne Gibbs, Bobby Gibbs, Andy Burge, and Randy Gibbs.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Members of the Paul Whitcomb Sunday School Class at Providence Baptist Church.
