Gallion woman, Illinois man killed in separate accidents

A single-vehicle crash Friday claimed the life of a Gallion woman.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Dawn Roberta Gressler Gates, 33, was killed when the 2001 Dodge Durango she was driving left the roadway and overturned. Gates, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred at 9:35 a.m. on Hale County 62 in the city limits of Gallion.
In a separate incident, a two-vehicle crash at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, claimed the life of a South Beloit, Illinois man.
Richard Miller, 73, was killed when the 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser he was driving was struck by a 2008 Kenworth tractor trailer. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
The crash occurred on Interstate 59 near the 40 mile marker, three miles south of Eutaw.
Nothing further is available on either accident as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
