The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce has been selected as a Small Business Saturday Neighborhood Champion by American Express, who launched Small Business Saturday to encourage people to do holiday shopping at small businesses. This year, Small Business Saturday is on Nov. 24.

On Nov. 1, 12 businesses will participate in the Holiday Open House by offering special discounts and deals throughout the day.

The participating businesses will also each have a special shopping day leading up to Small Business Saturday. On Nov. 24, DACC will host a Facebook Live drawing for a gift basket containing products from participating businesses. To enter, like and share a special Facebook post that will go live on Wednesday.

The participating businesses are as follows:

Blackbelt Gardens & Gifts, open from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m,, will feature 10 percent off all sales and door prizes. Refreshments will be served from 3-6 p.m. They will host a special shopping day on Thursday, Nov. 15.

Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital Gift Shop, open from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m., will feature 10 percent off all sales, door prizes and a hot chocolate bar. They will host a special shopping day on Monday, Nov. 17.

Firefly Boutique, open from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., will feature 10 percent off all sales, door prizes and “The Look with Laura” at 4:30 p.m. They will host a special shopping day on Friday, Nov. 16.

Lee’s Kloset, open from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., will feature 15 percent off storewide. Refreshments will be served from 5-7 p.m. They will host a special shopping day on Friday, Nov. 2.

Lindsey’s Florist and Gifts, open from 9 a.m.- 7 p.m., will feature 15 percent off total sales, refreshments and door prizes. They will host a special shopping day on Monday, Nov. 12.

The Mustard Seed, open from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., will feature 15 percent off all sales, refreshments, ice cream and door prizes. They will host a special shopping day on Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Nancy & Co. Fine Jewelers, open from 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m., will feature 10 percent off, refreshments and door prizes. They will host a special shopping day on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

Social Butterfly Marketplace, open from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., will feature various discounts throughout. They will host a special shopping day on Friday Nov. 9.

Southern Blessings, open from 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m., will feature door prizes.

They will host a special shopping day on Thursday, Nov. 8.

Tootsie’s, open from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., will feature 15 percent off all cash sales, tanning specials and refreshments. They will host a special shopping day on Monday, Nov. 5.

Uprooted Junk, open from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., will feature various discounts throughout the store and door prizes. They will host a special shopping day on Tuesday, Nov 6.

Workaholics, open from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., will feature 20 percent off all sales, a gift card giveaway and refreshments. They will host a special shopping day on Wednesday, Nov. 14.
