Super Citizen Program returns to WES
Libby Liberty arrived as Westside Elementary School on Feb. 12 to kick off the school’s Super Citizen
Program, a 10-week course that all second-graders participate in to learn about American history, government, citizenship and more. Above, she leads the students with a song as they celebrated the official beginning of the program. Right, with the help of Azariah Bullock and Katie Hewitt, she explained to the group that, when she is full-size in New York City, her nose is 4 and a half feet long. Sponsors for the event include AlaTrade Foods, Ala-Tom RC&D Council, ScreenTech, ALFA Insurance, Alabama 200, The Malone Family Foundation, The Daniel Foundation of Alabama, Veterans of Foreign Wars, alabama.gov, International Paper, the City of Demopolis and Marengo County Community Alliance.
