Extension Office plans Women In Ag program
Early registration discount applies prior to May 31
The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is presenting a Women in Agriculture program to be held June 14, 2019 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Blackbelt Research and Extension Center in Marion Junction, Alabama. This program is exclusively for women taught by women.
This will be a hands-on learning experience in six different areas in agriculture. The six sessions will consist of learning to put up permanent and temporary fencing; identifying check points on a tractor and how to drive a tractor along with different implements: pest control and monitoring in forages; how to hook to a gooseneck or bumper trailer and back it up; forage evaluation; and animal health including needles, vaccine selection and injection sites.
The program cost is $40 before May 31 and late registration is $50. The program will be limited to the first 30 applicants. For more information contact your local extension office or Brenda Glover, REA at 334-321-8828 or www.alabamabeefsystems.com.
