Aletheia House “Kids Who Care” Summer Camp will take place throughout the summer at 5 different locations.
The free camp is a four-week program for kids aged 6-13 and is sponsored by the Department of Mental Health. It takes place Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. except for the camps in Marengo and Greene counties which end at 2 p.m. Lunch and snacks will be provided as the attendees participated in evidence-based curriculum to empower kids and promote positive changes in their lives such as sports, arts and crafts, music, dancing, mentoring and educational topics ranging from the dangers of alcohol to drug use.
There is a 50-child maximum for each camp and applications are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
The camps will take place at:
Theo Ratliff Activity Center in Demopolis for Marengo County residents, June 3-June 28
Choctaw High School in Butler for Choctaw County residents, June 10-July 3
Branch Heights Community Center in Eutaw for Greene County residents, June 17-July 26
Boys & Girls Club of West Alabama in Greensboro for Hale County residents, June 17-July 12
Livingston Jr. High School in Livingston for Sumter County residents, June 24-July 19
While the camps are free, donations are appreciated.
