The Demopolis Public Works Department has been handling the pick-up for white goods since May 1, 2018.
White goods includes items such as household appliances, old furniture, mattresses, bed springs, and similar items. It does not include items such as lumber, plaster, roofing, concrete, bricks, toilets, drywall, and similar materials resulting from construction, demolition, renovation, repair or clean up.
If materials do not meet the residential solid waste description or the “white goods” definition, residents will need to directly contact a waste handling company for a special container.
Grass clippings, leaves, shrub and tree trimmings will be picked up, but must be bagged. For assistance with white goods or trimmings call the public works department at 289-3879.
