Clements Creative Images has been named the February Business of the Month by the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce. It is located at 102 E. Washington St.

Michael Clements has lived in or near Demopolis his entire life. Demopolis, especially downtown Demopolis, has a wide range of scenery that works well for photography. He said there’s not much reason to do it anywhere else. He began pursuing photography full-time in November 2017 after closing out the Gulf States Paper/WestRock chapter of his life. But, he has been doing portrait work since 2007.

Clements Creative Images mostly provide portrait services. It includes, but is not limited to, senior portraits, family portraits, business head shots, and pageant competition head shots. Clements also does graphic design work, including logos, t-shirt designs, business cards, and marketing materials. His wife works with portrait clients, providing hair and makeup services.

COVID-19 initially had a big impact on Clements Creative Images, but with some of the guidelines being lifted or changed, things have started to pick back up. Clements said one advantage the business offers him is using a longer lens and being well beyond the social distancing guidelines regarding COVID-19.

Clements said that being the business of the month is not something he’d ever given much thought about.

“I appreciate the honor and recognition, and I appreciate the work that David Lyons (DACC Chamber Director) is doing for the businesses in Demopolis,” said Clements. “I’ve had several conversations with David which indicate he wants to help the Demopolis business community grow and succeed.”

Clements Creative Images does not have specific operating hours. The business provides portrait services during the week and on weekends whenever clients have the opportunity to visit.
