Jim Lindsay and Peyton Stevenson were selected to attend the 2020 Boys State from Demopolis High School, but that was cancelled due to COVID. They will be invited to attend the 2021 gathering if they wish.

Alabama Boys State is one of the highest honors granted to Alabama Students, who are chosen based on their demonstration of leadership, hard work, strong morals, and motivation in school and community activities.

Boys State seeks to educate the young men in the duties and privileges of American Citizenship, and it is a program of training in the practical specifics of government and in the machinery of American politics.

The boys are sponsored by American Legion Post 41 in Demopolis.
