Lindsey’s Florist & Gifts has been named the November Business of the Month by the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce. It is located at 1405 Cardinal Drive.

Linsey’s Florist and Gifts has been in business in Demopolis for 17 years, and is owned by sisters Susan Webb and Sandra Seale. Seale said they opened their store after the business she ran out of her home outgrew the house, and they made the decision to branch out further and become the business that it is today.

Lindsey’s provides a wide variety of services from weddings, funerals, bridal and baby registries, home decor, and everyday deliveries to the schools and around the community. They also have a retail store that provides gifts for different occasions.

Seale said that when COVID-19 first hit last year, the retail part of their business was shut down for several weeks. However, they were considered an essential business because they serviced funerals, so the pandemic didn’t have quite as much impact on their business as it could have had.

“It had a large impact on us at first because no one was shopping and doing the retail part of our business,” said Seale. “We were still here doing everyday deliveries to people’s homes and to the hospital. And the increase in funeral needs helped out.”

Seale said she is thankful to the community for its support during the worst of the pandemic.

“Our community is very giving and supports small businesses. A lot of people shop local, and we’re thankful for that,” said Seale.

Seale said she and the staff of Lindsey’s feel honored to be chosen by the Chamber as the business of the month.

“That’s a blessing for your hometown to recognize you. We hope that what we do for our community is what people are looking for as far as a florist,” said Seale. “We want people to feel like we are providing what they need.”

Lindsey’s Florist and Gifts is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
