Trinity Episcopal Church Announces New Interim Rector

The Rt. Rev. Glenda Curry, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama, and the Vestry of Trinity Episcopal Church of Demopolis are pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Dr. Maurice L. (Rusty) Goldsmith as Interim Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church. His first service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, November 28.
“Rusty” was born and raised in Demopolis and is a graduate of Demopolis High School (Class of ’61). He received his B.A. Degree from the University of Alabama, and his Master of Divinity and Dr. of Divinity from the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee. Rusty come to demopolis after serving parishes throughout Alabama and the Southeast for the past forty years.
He and his wife, Carolyn, have been married 57 years, and have three sons and four grandchildren. Their son Michael, is presently Rector of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Huntsville, Alabama. Carolyn is a well-known and widely collected Birmingham artist known for her figurative and abstract paintings.
