The April 25 Linden Board of Education meeting was a brief one that lasted just under fifteen minutes.
Dr. Thurman reported that he received a schedule from the architect in charge of construction at G.P. Austin Middle School. Thurman said construction will be complete before school gets out for summer vacation in May. The only thing that will not be complete by the end of May are the A/C and heating units.
Thurman said he is considering holding off on the multipurpose room project until bid prices come down. He said the first bid they had on the project was around $350,000 to $400,000 four years ago. He said they are still struggling to keep the numbers under $1 million, and the budget cannot accommodate for the current bid prices.
Under New Business, board member Donte Dukes reported that a water leak was discovered at the field house. A pipe under a sink burst and spilled water into one end of the building. Dukes suggested closing off one end of the building until the leak can be examined and repaired.
