Parole denied for Marengo County inmate, second inmate awaiting hearing results

A Marengo County inmate who was sentenced by the Circuit Court of Marengo County has been denied parole by the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles. The hearing, held on Wednesday, August 9, was for Jeffery Williams (38).

Williams is serving time for two 2010 convictions and is incarcerated at William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility in Jefferson County. Williams has, so far, served 15 years for the two convictions.

The two cases include attempted murder, 25 years, and Burglary (1st degree), 20 years (to be served concurrently). The Board voted to deny parole with a reset date of August 1, 2028. Williams has a minimum release date of June 11, 2033.

Shereena Ann Thompson (39) is serving time for a 2023 conviction and is being held at the Tutwiler Prison in Wetumpka.

Thompson was sentenced by the Marengo County Circuit Court on February 23, 2023 for Theft of Property (3rd degree), Class D. Thompson’s hearing was set for August 10, and the results of that hearing have not yet been released. Thompson has a minimum release date of June 16, 2024.
