The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce has named Soggy Bottom Lodge as the August Business of the Month. Soggy Bottom is a well-known and popular spot in Marengo County. If you are and outdoors type person and enjoy hunting, then a visit to the lodge is a must.
Established as a rustic sportsman’s paradise, the Soggy Bottom staff prides themselves for their “first-class standards” in everything they offer to their guests. The lodge was constructed by Cliff Turnipseed with Turnipseed Construction from Aliceville, AL. It is built from wood and tin salvaged from an old barn and is considered a work of art.
No matter what type of hunting one is looking for, Soggy Bottom promises only the best for its guests. Hunters can go after whitetail deer, fallow deer, elk pheasants and quails, ducks, and bass fishing.
Not only does the lodge offer several hunting opportunities, it also offers buggy tours of the grounds, a long distance rifle range, five stand skeet shooting, an 18 station sporting clay course, kayaking or canoeing, and a pistol range.
Soggy Bottom is also a popular wedding venue and event location. The lodge staff are always on hand to help plan for that special day, or help host an event like its recent Autism Fun Day in June.
Soggy Bottom is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. It is located at 18618 Hwy. 43 in Linden. They can be reached at 334-295-5430 or emailed at brandon@soggybottomlodge.com
