The Canebrake Players are looking for talented actors to take part in its next big show “Miracle on 34th Street.” Auditions will be held on Sept. 17 and Sept. 18 at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. respectively. The dates for the show are Nov. 17-20.

“Miracle on 34th Street” is a holiday play based on the film of the same name. The play focuses on Doris Walker, a single mother to a six-year-old named Susan.

According to www.mtishows.com, Doris doesn’t want her daughter’s head “to be filled with romantic notions.” Neighbor, Fred Gailey, tries to woo Doris by charming Susan and taking her to see Santa Claus at Macy’s, where Doris works. Doris is not impressed, but when it turns out that Macy’s Santa may, in fact, be the real Kris Kringle, a wave of love spreads across New York City that melts even the most cynical hearts.
