Sweet Water Bulldogs get region win over Linden Patriots

The Sweet Water Bulldogs hosted their county rival, the Linden Patriots, last Friday and came away with a 20-0 victory.

Deshanard Blanks, Ethan Carr, and Timothy Kelley handled the scoring for the Bulldogs, with touchdowns on 1, 3, and 2 yard runs respectively. Kicker David Etheridge was 2 of 3 on extra point attempts.

The passing game for the Bulldogs didn’t go well with Kelley completing zero of three pass attempts. Rushing yards for the Bulldogs saw Carr with 69 yards, Blanks with 64 yards, Elliot Lucy with 25 yards, and Kelley with 10 yards. Blanks also had one tackle for a loss and one sack.

The passing game for Linden saw quarterback Donald Walker complete five of eleven pass attempts for 68 yards. Rushing yards for the Patriots saw Roderick Brown with 81 yards, Isaiah Brown with 17 yards. On the receiving end, Keilyn Edwards had one reception for 27 yards.

Next up for the Sweet Water Bulldogs is a road game and a region game against Keith. The Patriots have an open date next week, and will return on Oct. 20 to take on the University Charter School in Livingston in a regional game.

Kickoff for the Bulldogs is 7 p.m.
