James Melton Winters age 89 of Demopolis, AL died Oct. 7 at his home. He was born Nov. 25, 1933 in McWilliams, AL to Frances James and Ethel Lois Winters. He was a retired finishing leader with Gulf States Paper.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lyon Winters; son, James Daniel Winters; daughter, Barbara Elise Winters Mills; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services were held at Demopolis Memorial Gardens on Oct. 10 with Kelly Etheridge and Jimbo Ward officiating.
