Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Have you ever noticed the words, “Objects in mirror are closer than they appear” on the side of your vehicle mirror? It’s a safety warning that is required on all vehicles.

Side mirrors make objects appear smaller and farther away than they actually are. While mirrors are useful, they do not give us a full view of what is actually behind us. Drivers must always be aware of what is in the mirror and what is not. If you are not aware, you might cause an accident.

We may not see God at work in our lives because our focus and energy are on ourselves. The Psalmist reminds us that God is always closer to us than we think:

“The Lord is near to all who call on Him in truth. He hears their cry and saves them.”

God is close and His grace will bring us through the hardest of times. God comes to us time and time again in various ways, maybe as a friend with a listening ear or making Himself known in prayer and by reading His Holy Word.

God is never out of sight. We can never be sure how God will appear to us, but just as we look in the mirror with awareness, look within your heart to see Christ and know He is the answer as God is always closer than you think!
