Whitfield Regional Hospital CEO and Administrator Doug Brewer spoke before the Demopolis City Council and announced that the new emergency room (ER) would be open for patients on Tuesday, Nov. 21. The ER project has been a long time coming, and promises to be a state of the art facility.

The hospital back road is now open to admit patients, and all ambulances and walk-ins can enter the new ER from the back just as was previously done.

It’s really beautiful,” Brewer said. “We’ve made some changes that we think will impact the quality of care and service. We’ve added a mid level physician’s assistant who will help us triage patients and we’ve created a fast track area in there.”
