This time of year, we stop to give thanks. We pause for just a moment to consider all the blessings in our life. Our family, friends, homes, jobs and so much that revolves around us.

Talking with some friends this weekend, someone commented about how time is passing so quickly. We discussed grandchildren growing up before our eyes. How our lives have led us to this place. We are grateful for the older generation, most of whom are waiting for us in heaven.

But the question is am I living with the outlook of heaven? How do we view our time here on the earth? Should we not have a purpose for being created in this time and in the place, we live? Is our life all about us and collecting treasures, “doing our own thing?”

I believe we were created for more than that! Scripture tells us we were created in our mother’s womb. (Psalm 139) We also read that “man is appointed man once to live and then the judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27)

Esther in the Old Testament was “created for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14” We also were created “From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.” (Acts 17:26 NIV)

When our lives are viewed with the background of eternity, we will see more purpose in our time here. We will be able to endure through our trials knowing there is more in the life hereafter.

You must choose while here if it will be life in heaven, rewarded for following Christ commands. The choice we make determines our destiny for all eternity. God chose you to be with Him. Did you choose Him? He is the way, the truth, and the life. Choose Wisely my friend.
