The History Channel’s hit series “American Pickers” is set to return to Alabama in February 2024. The show has visited Alabama a few times before in 2010, 2011, 2014, 2019, and 2022.

“American Pickers” is a documentary style series with a focus on antiques and follows a cast of “pickers” who hunt for the most valuable antiques.

“As they hit the back roads from coast to coast, the Pickers are on a mission to recycle and rescue forgotten relics,” said a press release sent to the media. “Along the way, they want to meet characters with amazing stories and fun items. They hope to give historically significant objects a new lease on life while learning a thing or two about America’s past along the way.”

The show announced its return to Alabama in a Facebook post on Nov. 27.

“Howdy Alabama, Louisiana & Mississippi! Hope you are fine and dandy because we’re coming your way in February 2024! The pickers are on the hunt for large, junkie, historical, private collections with fascinating stories,” the post read. “If that’s you or someone you know, don’t hesitate to let us know! Be sure to include your name, city and state, phone number, and a brief description of your collection.”

Producers of “American Pickers” are looking for leads and want to explore whatever hidden treasure Alabamians might have at home. If residents have a unique item or story to tell, producers encourage them to reach out and let them know. The Pickers do not visit stores, flea markets, malls, museums, auction businesses, or anything open to the public. The cast only looks into private collections. Please keep in mind that the Pickers want to buy the items they find, participants should not apply if they are not prepared to sell their antiques.
